The dentist will select the color of the veneer based on the color of the existing teeth. They will also decide which part of the laminate needs more translucency to ensure the result looks real and natural.

The impression allows the dentist to produce a dental veneer that fits perfectly over the affected tooth. It takes about one to two weeks to complete the production of dental veneers. During this time, the dentist may apply a temporary veneer on the teeth. After the new veneer is ready, the dentist will examine its fit. This is necessary, because slight errors may cause issues with tooth alignment. Any necessary adjustments will be made until the veneer fits correctly.
Once the dentist is satisfied with the color, shape and appearance of the veneer, they will bond it to the tooth. They will polish the surface of the tooth and veneer properly before starting the bonding process. Afterward, they will etch the tooth’s surface with an acid gel to ensure a tight bond. The dentist will place a bonding agent and harden the veneer onto the tooth with a special blue light.
